BEYOND THE HORIZON, A classical journey to embrace the voice of the rising sun

Gillian Humphreys, artistic director and founder of Concordia Foundation presents Beyond the Horizon at St Martin in the Fields on 7th January 2014. The concert recreates a magical journey through the four seasons in Japan, using authentic instruments, dancers and visuals. Tapestries of classical music woven through the folk traditions of Japan, Europe, and the New World bringing the ancient arts to the new generation.
The evening will present a World premiere by Fabio D'andrea, performances by Satoko Fukuda, Ahmed Dickinson, Hibiki Ichikawa, the Concordia International Ensemble, Clive Bell & VOCES8
The repertoire include Traditional Japanese Folksongs, Vivaldi, Piazzolla, Vaughan Williams and Roxanna Panufnik.
