Ahmed Dickinson – guitar
Hammadi Rencurrell – percussion
These young talented Cuban musicians have been thrilling UK audiences since their debut in London last year. They perform a lively and fresh repertoire combining traditional Cuban genres, classical styles and jazz. They trained in the best music colleges in Cuba and the UK. Ahmed and Hammadi are also strong solo and chamber artists in their own right. This ensemble also performs alongside British-Spanish violinist Emma Blanco. Recent performances included:
The Green Note Latin Music Festival
DEAL Festival
Cambridge Summer Music Festival
The London Classical Guitar Festival
The Plymouth Music Festival (Respect)
Later this year, we can expect further delights when Ahmed partners with Mestizo on a contemporary Cuban album, featuring the works of Eduardo Martin.
Ahmed is currently busy working on an album of classical works for guitar and voice by Spanish and South American composers, and features the ravishing vocal talents of soprano Laura Mitchell.
This exciting guitar and violin duo takes us on a journey through the expressive tango of Argentina, the popular songs of Spain, the wild dances of Romania and the vibrant beat of Cuba.
Founded by Ahmed Dickinson in 2008, the London based label is aimed to promote the works for guitar by contemporary Cuban and Latin composers.
Its first release (Ahmed Dickinson plays Ñico Rojas) is a partnership with Havana Masters.
